Mumm – mummnapa.com
Situated next to Silverado Trail in Rutherford, Mumm is most definitely designed for the casual tourist who’s looking for a convenient pit stop. To be fair, we haven’t taken the winery tour, but the tasting experience was less than expected.
Mumm provides patrons with both indoor and outdoor seating and spectacular, uninterrupted views of the valley floor. The venue is designed to corral tourists and seat them efficiently, much like a roadside diner (minus the gum-chewing waitress named Flo). If you’re looking for an educational experience with attentive staff you will certainly be disappointed. Be prepared for the tipsy, bachelorette party crowd, this place is crawling with them.
The three-wine flight consisted of Brut Prestige, Brut Rosé, and Cuvée M. The Brut Rosé never disappoints, but our favorite was the Cuvée M. By far the sweetest of the three, Cuvée M would make a great addition to a cocktail party and would satisfy most guests who are happy to partake in a glass of bubbly.
Tip: Be prepared for mini-sized champagne flutes. A little underwhelming, but also kinda cute!
